In this Advanced First Aid for Sports Refresher Course, you refresh all the skills to administer First Aid for various sporting accidents, including Basic Life Support and the use of an AED.
During this refresher course, you refresh all the First Aid skills for various sporting accidents. Basic Life Support and the use of an AED are also covered in this course. You learn how you bring an athlete to safety and transport them, how to assess the situation and alert the emergency services.
Under the supervision of a certified Red Cross instructor, you learn how to administer First Aid to an athlete with neck or spinal injuries, who is unresponsive, has injuries to the musculoskeletal system, a mild head injury, a cut, graze or burn, wounds to the face or thermal injuries (hypothermia or heat injuries), blisters, muscle or tendon injuries, choking/suffocation, bleeding, injury to the teeth or eyes or a nosebleed.
Once you have completed the refresher course successfully, you receive a Worldwide recognized Red Cross First Aid certificate. The certificate is valid for two years. After completion of the course, for reference, you receive the Course Book First Aid for Sports.
Conditions
You can participate in the refresher course if you have an Advanced First Aid for Sports certificate that is still valid on the day of the course.
