In this Basic First Aid for Sports Refresher Course, you learn the basic skills for First Aid for the most acute sporting accidents, including Basic Life Support and using an AED.
During this course, you refresh your First Aid skills for the most acute sporting accidents. Basic Life Support and the use of an AED are also covered in this course. You learn how you bring an athlete to safety, how to assess their condition and alert the emergency services.
Under the supervision of a certified Red Cross instructor, the trainee learns how to administer First Aid to someone who is unresponsive, who has a burn, cut, graze or blisters, or is choking or suffocating.
Once you have completed the course successfully, you receive a Red Cross First Aid certificate. The certificate is valid for two years, and may be extended by doing a refresher course. After completion of the course, for reference, you receive the Course Book First Aid for Sports.
