In this First Aid for Babies and Children Course, you learn all the skills to administer First Aid to children and babies, including Pediatric Basic Life Support and the use of an AED.
Official certificate approved by the National Government within the Childcare Act Regulations.
During this First Aid for Babies and Children Course, you practise all the First Aid skills necessary to give First Aid to children and babies. Pediatric Basic Life Support and the use of an AED are also covered in this course. You learn how you bring a child to safety, how to assess its condition and alert the emergency services.
Under the supervision of a certified Red Cross instructor, you learn to give First Aid to a child who is choking, suffocating or has been rescued from drowning, has an injury to the musculoskeletal system, a neck, spinal or head injury, a foreign object in the nose or ear, a lost or broken tooth, fever or febrile seizures, circulatory arrest, is unresponsive, has bleeding, a cut, graze, burn or scald, COPD, poisoning, a nosebleed, a speck in the eye, a tooth through the lip, a finger trapped in the door or a severe allergy.
Once you have completed the course successfully, you receive an IKK-approved Red Cross First Aid certificate. The certificate is valid for two years, and may be extended by doing a refresher course. After completion of the course, for reference, you receive the Course Book First Aid for Babies and Children.
