Refresh your knowledge and skills on how to provide First Aid to children and babies, including Pediatric Basic Life Support and the use of an AED.
Official certificate approved by the National Government within the Childcare Act Regulations.
Practise all the First Aid skills you need to give First Aid to babies and children. This includes Pediatric Basic Life Support and the use of the AED. After completion of the refresher course, you can bring a child to safety, assess their condition, give Pediatric Basic Life Support, use an AED, and provide First Aid for unresponsiveness, bleeding, a burn/scald, circulatory arrest, CO poisoning, serious allergy, a head injury, a cut or a graze, fever or febrile seizures, shortness of breath, injuries to bones, muscles or joints, neck or spinal injuries, nosebleed, a tooth through the lip, after rescue from drowning, for poisoning, a lost/broken tooth, choking, suffocation, a finger caught in the door, a foreign object in the nose or ear or a speck in the eye.
Once you have completed the course successfully, you receive a Red Cross First Aid certificate that is valid for two years. This certificate is approved by the government for foster parents and also comes within the Childcare Act Regulation (Innovation and Quality of Childcare Act, Wet IKK).
Conditions
You can participate in the refresher course if you have a ‘First Aid for Babies and Children’ certificate that is still valid on the day of the course.
