In this First Aid for Sports Course, you learn all the First Aid skills for giving First Aid for various sporting accidents.
During this course, you learn the First Aid skills for various sporting accidents. You learn how you bring an athlete to safety, how to assess their condition and alert the emergency services.
Under the supervision of a certified Red Cross instructor, you learn how to administer First Aid to an athlete with neck or spinal injuries, who is unresponsive with normal breathing, has injuries to the musculoskeletal system, a mild head injury, cut, graze or burn, wounds to the face or thermal injuries (hypothermia or heat injuries).
Once you have completed the course successfully, you receive a Red Cross First Aid certificate. The certificate is valid for two years, and may be extended by doing a refresher course. After completion of the course, for reference, you receive the Course Book First Aid for Sports.
